In a remarkable show of commitment to improving healthcare in Nigeria, the Ajilesoro Foundation has pledged its full support for the construction of a new Accident & Emergency Building at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The announcement was made during a courtesy visit to the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor John Okeniyi, where members of the foundation’s leadership reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing the quality of medical care available to the community and beyond.
A Lifesaving Initiative
The emergency building project aims to provide modern, well-equipped facilities capable of handling urgent and life-threatening cases with greater efficiency. Once completed, it will feature separate male and female wards, improved patient flow, and upgraded treatment areas to meet international healthcare standards.
Professor Okeniyi expressed his gratitude, praising the foundation for its philanthropy and vision:
“The Ajilesoro Foundation has shown once again that it is a beacon of goodwill not only to Ile-Ife but to the entire South West and Nigeria at large. This project will leave a lasting mark on our healthcare system.”
Commitment Beyond Boundaries
Speaking on behalf of the foundation, its President, Comrade Olatunde Sanni, emphasized that the initiative is not just for the people of Ile-Ife, but for all Nigerians—regardless of tribe or background:
“We are driven by the belief that every life matters. By God’s grace, we will see this project completed and serving those in need.”
The hospital’s Director of Administration, Dr. Ayodeji Bobade, also commended the foundation’s involvement, noting that the project would significantly boost the hospital’s emergency response capabilities.
Why It Matters
- Strengthening Emergency Care: The project will improve critical response times and treatment outcomes.
- Serving All Nigerians: A facility open to everyone, bridging healthcare gaps.
- Public-Private Partnership: A testament to what collaboration can achieve for community development.
The Ajilesoro Foundation’s support for this project is a powerful reminder that philanthropy, when paired with purpose, can save lives. As construction progresses, it brings the vision of a better-equipped, more responsive emergency system in Nigeria closer to reality.
